About us
The Romanian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine was founded in September 2003 and is open to the specialists - medical doctors and pharmacists - involved in the discovery, research, development and ethical promotion of the pharmaceutical products.
Mission
SOMFAR mission is to promote the recognized quality standards for pharmaceutical research and development in order to speed up patient's access to health care products that improve their health and quality of life.
Objectives
To encourage the existence of a favorable health care environment in Romania which facilitates cooperation among the medical and allied professionals, industry, regulatory authorities.
To stimulate high-standard continuing education in the field of clinical research, in conformity with Declaration of Helsinki and GCP guidelines, and to give them access to most recent and reliable information.
To promote the recognition of Pharmaceutical Medicine as a medical specialty and the development of programs for professional growth.
Partnership with related organizations - academies, regulatory, professional associations - local and international.
To provide consultancy assistance clinical research.
To build up an extensive Romanian investigators Database.
How?
By disseminating information, exchanging ideas, sharing personal experience, providing training courses, and promoting the value of evidence based medicine.
